Brand Strategy
A “transformed market presence” for a transformational technology.
The team at ZapBatt faced an enviable challenge. They had developed breakthrough battery technology at a moment when electrification and energy transition was top-of-mind around the world. But their proprietary bOS (Battery Operating System) was so cutting-edge that it was difficult to communicate effectively.
Alongside a best-in-class team assembled by Studio Everywhere, I led the initial brand strategy. Working closely with agency CEO and client, we zeroed in on a unique value proposition and mapped out how to articulate it for different audiences—including those coming in with varying levels of technological expertise.
The full rebrand stemming from the initial strategy included a new name (Proper Voltage), visual identity, and website. After launching publicly in early 2025, the team’s CSO reported a “transformed market presence,” as well as increased funding conversations.
